Rosenberg is named for Henry Rosenberg, who emigrated from Switzerland to Galveston in 1843 and was the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. The town grew around the railway junction and sits next to Richmond, the Fort Bend county seat. It hosts the county fair each October.
